The bowl is as large as I hoped it would be, but perhaps a bit heavier than I would have preferred. That's my problem, not Athena's. My hands are weak from arthritis which is why I wish it were a little lighter. There is a small flaw in the outer wall of bowl. You can't see it, but you can feel it if you run your hands over the surface. It's a tiny bump, but the pattern isn't affected by that and it's not worth returning the bowl for such a minor flaw.The photo of the dish drainer gives you an idea of how the sizes of the cereal bowl and the serving bowl compare. Both photos are deceptive in the color at the top of of the pieces. There's a yellow cast in my photos that doesn't exist in real life. It's actually a creamy white rim.Everything I've received from Blue Rose is so protectively packaged it's kinda funny. The item is wrapped with tissue paper and there's another layer of protection that I've never seen before. I don't even know how to describe it other than to say it's substantial and won't let anything bump into your purchase. Then the item goes into a product box where it's further protected by foam popcorn (the kind that dissolves in water). It's sealed and then put into a shipper where the product box is also protected by foam popcorn. You can count on your order arriving in perfect condition.
