I enjoyed the police tracking every line, every suggestion, and every idea. They go from hint, suggestion, clue and keep tracking. Butt, they are no match for the powerful who wish to cover their misdeeds and kill anyone in their way. The intrusion of the politics of the powerful made me grind my teeth. Mr Guittari skillfully allows them to intrude at the highest levels with grave consequences for Chief Superintendent Ferrara. The reader can track their interference and see how its effects the outcome. Ferrara knows that he has been ordered to leave his beloved Florence. He wife is delighted to remove her and him from imminent danger. He learns the name of the highly politically connected group and learns that it will never die. So with tears in Ferrara’s eyes. Mr. Guttari leaves us with the hint of the plots of his next several books.
