i have read Amy's books extensively. I found this treasure to be my very favorite. It's written by one confined and suffering terribly TO others suffering. It was refreshing to read deep reflections of Scripture from a fellow-sufferer. Her words are heartfelt and deeply empathetic. Oh, that our medical profession would learn this way! Those caring for others often inflict more emotional pain that they offer in relief. These words are deeply healing for those in the trenches. Heaven is forever-- one day our deepest and longest trials will be as nothing. He will wipe away all our tears. Her words point to that Great Hope and provide daily endurance to one suffering. Amazing how with the progression of medical care, her words are just as inspiring today, as when they were written, if not more.
