This band started out in 1965 with a single "Making Time". It didn't really go anywhere and what a shame that was. A really rockin' tune that was very reminiscent of the Who and produced by the same person who produced the Who-Shel Talmy. They had a follow-up single "Painter Man" another great tune also ignored. Then along came an album entitled "We Are Painter Men". This album was a masterpiece! This album here, unfortunately, was their last and released in the nineties. This band was housed Ron Wood, later of The Jeff Beck Group and the Rolling Stones, and also Kim Gardner, later of Ashton, Gardner and Dyke. This album should not go on unnoticed, it is a masterpiece of mayhem. It is a nineties version of the original band, all members intact. Sadly, though, after this album was released, their lead vocalist, Ken Pickett had passed on. A huge loss to this great band. The one song that really sticks in my head is "Ghost Division" a haunting rocking tune with an infectious rhythm that will stay with you. The rest of the album is just as fantastic as well. Also, you should check out their other cds as well on Amazon. I believe there are about 6 or 7 cds. Some have live tracks from the 60's. Their music is a "Better" r&b and tunes that sound like the Who, but, with their own approach.
